Hiroya Kumamaru, M.D., PhD.
Dr. Hiroya Kumamaru graduated from Keio University’s School of Medicine in 1980 with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Science. Dr. Kumamaru is a cardiovascular surgeon having received training in Japan, the U.S., and Monaco. From 1996 to 2005 he was the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Medicine for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Inc. Japan. In 2005, he was appointed Chief Surgeon, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Kawasaki Municipal Hospital in Kanagawa and continued in this role until 2008. Currently, he is Director of KI Akihabara Clinic and medical advisor to Cosmo. In addition to his specialization in cardiovascular diseases and treatments, he is a Japanese Board-certified Anti-Aging Doctor and has extensive knowledge of alternative and holistic medicines.
Satoki Sano
Satoki Sano joined COSMO in August 2009. A veteran with over 30 years experience in advertising and marketing, Satoki served as COO of JWT Japan before heading up his own marketing consultancy and now acting as COSMO’s senior strategic advisor. Prior to JWT, Satoki was an executive manager at Hakuhodo Inc., Japan’s second largest advertising agency, where he headed up the company’s international M&A group.
Before taking up this position, he was a marketing planner for the agency working with a number of international clients including Coca Cola, BMW, Nestle, Shiseido, etc.
Mr. Sano also served as marketing director for Budweiser Japan, a joint-venture between Anheuser-Busch and Kirin Beer.
Mr. Sano received his B.A. and M.A. from International Christian University, with a major in biological and experimental psychology.
