100DrKumamaru.jpgHiroya Kumamaru, M.D., PhD.

Dr. Hiroya Kumamaru graduated from Keio University's School of Medicine in 1980 with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Medical Science. He is a cardiovascular surgeon, having received training in Japan, the United States, and Monaco. From 1996 to 2005 he was the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Medicine for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Inc. Japan. After he came back to clinical cardiovascular surgery again in the one of the affiliated Hospital of Keio Medical School, he decided to proceed to the private practice to be the Director of KI Akihabara Clinic and currently the medical advisor to COSMO. In addition to his specialization in cardiovascular diseases and treatments, he is a Japanese Board-certified Anti-Aging Doctor and has extensive knowledge of alternative and holistic medicines.

Dr. Toshikazu Oki joined COSMO in 2010 and has worked as a consultant and adviser to domestic and international biotech-firms since 1998. Dr. Oki has extensive experience as a professor and lecturer at several universities in Japan and abroad. He is currently a visiting professor at the University of Southern California Medical School and Yokohama City University's Graduate School of Integrated Science & Medical School.

Satoki Sano joined COSMO in August 2009. A veteran with over 30 years experience in advertising and marketing, Satoki also served as COO of JWT Japan before heading up his own marketing consultancy and working as COSMO's senior strategic advisor. Prior to JWT, Satoki was an executive manager at Hakuhodo Inc., Japan's second largest advertising agency, where he headed up the company's international M&A group.
Before taking up this position, he was a marketing planner for the agency working with a number of international clients including Coca Cola, BMW, Nestle, Shiseido, and others. Mr. Sano also served as marketing director for Budweiser Japan, a joint-venture between Anheuser-Busch and Kirin Beer. Mr. Sano received his B.A. and M.A. from International Christian University, with a major in biological and experimental psychology.

Mr. Manabu Matsuda joined COSMO as Advisor in 2011. After graduating from the University of Tokyo he entered the Ministry of Finance in 1981, retiring in 2010. During his tenure at the Ministry, he also served as a professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University and sat on the board of directors at The Genron NPO (a private, independent think tank). Currently, he specializes in the creation of policy proposals; provides project assistance as a fellow and a corporate officer at Taiju Research Institute, Inc.; and also serves as a visiting professor at Yokohama City University. He has a keen interest in healthcare system reform and urban and suburban community revitalization.

Olaf Debus, PhD.Olaf.png

Olaf Debus joined Cosmo in 2012, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales in the healthcare industry. He previously worked as a consultant and interim manager to pharmaceutical companies in Europe. Prior to setting up his own business, he was head of marketing for Women’s Health at Schering-Plough for the German market. Before taking up that position he served in various marketing and sales roles at international companies including Sanofi, Nycomed and Organon. Besides his proven track record in marketing, he has extensive experience in change management and has strong leadership skills. Before focusing on marketing he studied chemistry and physics, with a PhD in Physical Chemistry.
